Ghatail Golf Course (GGC) is spreader over an area of almost 30 acres of land covering a turn round distance of 3000 meters-minimum prerequisite for a Standard 9 Hole Golf Course. The layout of the course is very challenging coupled with magnificent scenic beauty and exceptional panoramic view of the club house complex. The course is a mixture of plains and hillocks with numerous natural folds, turns and bends including water bodies and plantation.
Ghatail Golf Course is designed with 9 holes (2.7 km) and the total length is 3.2 km, the total member strength of the club is 85 and the present active member strength of he club is 50. Number of tournaments is organized by the club regularly to attract the refreshing golf lovers.
Histroy Of Ghatail Golf Club
The construction work of GGC has started on 19 March 2005. Ground condition was undulated and hilly. The total concept of the Golf Club was perceived by Major General Mohammad Ishtiaq, ndc, psc, GOC 19 Infantry Division who is the architect of GGC too. A personal touch of the General expedited the work and rendered a shape of an excited Golf Link to be compared with any international golf course. The relentless efforts of all concerned made it possible to complete the golf course and club house in 4 months time which ended up in June 2005.
The Club house is a unique structure with modem applications like curved sheets (Australia) with gable frame technology. The golf course and the club house were formally inaugurated by Lieutenant General Moeen U Ahmed, psc, Chief of Army and President Bangladesh Golf Federation on 24th July 2006. This Golf Course has been recognized to be the 7th standard course of the country.
